Team

Built by people who understand both custody and coordination.

Keylay is being developed by a small team focused on secure Bitcoin custody, multisig workflows, browser-based tooling, and the operational realities of remote coordination.

Lead / Research / Product

Professor Emeritus of Electrical & Computer Engineering at Auburn University. Focuses on Bitcoin custody, multisig architecture, and coordination design. Stan has been an advocate for bitcoin and freedom technology for many years. He has received training from the Human Rights Foundation and others in responsible self-custody in adversarial environments. He has worked with individuals and charities who have concerns around confiscation and systemic vulnerabilities, helping them establish self-custody setups.

  • Multisig architecture and coordination design
  • Air-gapped workflows and security modeling
  • Product direction and system constraints
Engineering / Frontend / Design

Experienced software engineer and graphic designer. Builds the browser interface and contributes to implementation, interaction design, and layout systems for high-friction security workflows. Wilson is an avid bitcoin advocate and champion of freedom technology.

  • JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and browser-based UI implementation
  • Interaction design for constrained, security-sensitive workflows
  • Frontend structure, mobile behavior, and visual systems
Capabilities

What this team covers

Bitcoin custody design

Wallet structure, signer distribution, and coordination assumptions for real multisig deployments.

Air-gapped workflows

QR and file-based movement of setup and signing data without collapsing key isolation.

Browser-based tooling

Lightweight interfaces for difficult workflows without forcing users into accounts, installs, or heavy operational overhead.

Open development

Contributions and review

Keylay is open source. Review, testing, and criticism are useful now because the project is still in the stage where architectural and usability corrections are cheap.
